About the artist:
Ivan Marchuk is a holder of the title People’s Artist of Ukraine, laureate of the Taras Shevchenko National Prize of Ukraine, Honorary Citizen of Kyiv and Ternopil, member of the Golden Guild in the International Academy of Modern Art in Rome. His name is on the list of hundreds of modern geniuses (according to the British newspaper The Daily Telegraph), who create a multidimensional image of the world and, against the time determine the direction and prospects for the development of post-industrial civilization.
I always dreamed to visit Ivan Marchuk’s exhibition at least once, and finally it happened. Unfortunately, he rarely exhibits his work in Ukraine. Nevertheless, I could not even think that I would not only see him, but talk in person. I was lucky to see and talk with this brilliant man at his personal exhibition “Roots”. He aroused strong interest all over the world by creating his own style in painting, called Pleintonism. Seems like many paintings are woven of the finest threads, and this technique enslaved my heart at a glance.
Accidents are not accidental. An interesting conversation, valuable advices, collaborative photos, and an autograph as a memento will remain forever in my memory.
